• The real cost here is dinner, not distance. The Red Line is the only bus to Main Lodge and its last departure is 5.30 p.m.; the Evening Trolley and the Late Night Trolley serve the Village, Canyon, Eagle and town, and never Main Lodge. Without a car, after 5.30 you eat at the Inn.

• The strongest true slopeside address our research turned up, and Google's hotel index missed it entirely — Mammoth's on-snow stock is condo buildings let unit by unit, which never surface as hotels. We added it by hand.
• Every access detail here is manager-sourced, not resort-sourced: the 8,650 ft elevation, the 'highest elevation condo property in Mammoth' line, Chair 8 and both trail names come from rental marketing. One source calls it the only ski-in/ski-out development at Canyon Lodge while others hang the same label on 1849 Condos and Mammoth Ski & Racquet Club, and nothing settles it.
• No nightly rate came back in our January check and there is no Expedia row, so we publish no price. The Google record shows 4.4 from 42 reviews — a thin sample for a complex sold unit by unit, where one owner's condo is not the building.

• Read what Mammoth does not say. It owns this building and its page never uses the words ski-in/ski-out — it describes a gondola up and a ski back trail down, two different mechanisms in two different directions. The listing sites flatten that into slopeside; we do not.
• The season is the trap. The gondola's window ends around mid-April while the mountain runs to late May or June — 2025/26 was 199 days and closed on 7 June 2026 — so a spring booking here is a shuttle-or-drive property at Village prices, on a cat track that is mush by then anyway.
